Srinagar Burglary Solved, Stolen Gold and Alto Car Seized: Police

   

SRINAGAR: A major theft case reported from the Nishat area of Srinagar in February has been solved by police, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of stolen gold items worth nearly Rs 9 lakh.

“The breakthrough followed a complaint lodged on February 19 by Ghulam Qadir, a resident of Pati Brein, who reported a burglary at his home in which gold ornaments were stolen. Police Station Nishat registered an FIR and launched a comprehensive investigation,” police spokesperson said in a statement.

Through sustained efforts, analysis of clues, and the use of digital surveillance, the investigating team identified three suspects: Hafiz Ganie of Shallbugh Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad Ganie of Asham Sumbal Bandipora, and Bilal Ahmad Dar of Safapora Bandipora.

During questioning, the trio confessed to the crime. Based on their disclosures, police recovered the stolen gold along with an Alto car (registration number HR13E-9346) allegedly used in the burglary.

Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with further efforts to recover any remaining stolen property and to determine if the accused are linked to other similar cases. [KNT]
