SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Aijaz Asad of Srinagar announced on Wednesday that all villages in the district have successfully achieved their targets under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, resulting in Srinagar being ranked among the top 10 districts.
During a conversation with reporters, the Mission was revealed to have three categories: Rising, Aspirational, and Model.
“Srinagar has attained the Model category as our villages have accomplished all the targets. I extend my congratulations to the Rural Development Department for their successful achievements,” he said.
He further mentioned that Srinagar district is among the top 10 districts in the country for the Swachh Sarvekshan Mission.
“In addition, we will continue to strive towards meeting the criteria for model villages and fulfilling all the requirements,” he added.
When asked about road macadamisation, he explained that it is conducted by two organisations, The Public Works Department and The Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
He assured that both organisations are diligently working in their respective areas, and the project will be completed soon. (KNO)
