The administration of three main colleges in Srinagar has decided to close the teaching institutes on Monday following the killing of three militants in Shopian.

“Teaching activity will remain suspended in Islamia College, Amarsingh college Gandhi College, SP school and MP school tomorrow,” said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone .

However, the official did not explain the reasons of the closure.

Meanwhile District Magistrate Ganderbal has said class work shall remain suspended in Govt Degree College Ganderbal and Degree College Kangan on Monday August 14.

The sources in the government said the decision has been taken in the backdrop of the killing of three Hizb militants including its Field Operational Commander, Yasin Yatoo alias Mahmood Ghaznavi in Shopian on Sunday.
