Srinagar

The Srinagar-Jammu highway was blocked on Wednesday due to landslides in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that huge boulders came rolling down from a hilltop on the highway at Peera, blocking the movement of vehicles on the strategic highway that connects Kashmir with the rest of the world.

He said that the movement of traffic remained suspended on the traffic from past more than two hours.

Men and machinery have been pressed into service to restore the movement of traffic on the highway, he said.
