According to IGP Traffic, one portion of hillside at Gangroo (Ramsoo) has developed cracks and needs urgent repairs while the BEACON authorities have recommended closing down of Srinagar-Jammu highway for three days.
Accordingly, the Srinagar-Jammu high shall remain closed on Oct, 9,10 and 11, 2014 and no movement of vehicular traffic will be allowed on these days. However, to facilitate the passengers, transportation of fruit and essential commodities, the passenger service vehicle (LMVs only) empty oil tanker, empty trucks and fruit load carriers (medium size) can use Mughal road from Srinagar to Jammu after getting clearance from concerned district administration.
Similarly all type of vehicles of the above said category intending to move to Valley can use Sinthan Top- Kishtwar route on these days, the statement said.
