Following the fresh snowfall and landslides at various places, authorities on Thursday closed the Srinagar-Jammu highway for the second consecutive day.
“Due to the accumulation of snow at various places, the vehicular movement on Srinagar-Jammu highway has been suspended,” an official said.
He said road maintenance agencies, along with machines, were on the job to clear the highway.
“The decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway will be taken only after the road is cleared off by the road maintenance agency concerned and after assessing road condition,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the historic Mughal road and Srinagar-Sonamarg, Gumri road remained also remained closed for the traffic movement.
