The Jammu-Srinagar highway was shut for the third day on Saturday after landslides hit the 300-km highway in Ramban district.

“The Jammu-Srinagar highway is closed for traffic as landslides have occurred at a few places in Banihal and Ramban,” an official said.

He said road maintenance agencies, along with machines, were on the job to clear the highway.

“The decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway will be taken only after the road is cleared off by the road maintenance agency concerned and after assessing road condition,” the official said.
