The vital Srinagar-Jammu highway shall remain closed for vehicular traffic for Friday.

J&K Police officials told Kashmir Life that the traffic police are on job clearing the stranded vehicles on the road. “No vehicle shall be allowed to ply from either side,” a top official said, “only stranded vehicles are being cleared today.

The officials added that landslides continue to block the road at Panthal, Sheer Bibi and few other places.

The officials further said that Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road too has been cleared on Thursday. “The road got blocked in Uri due to landslides and Beacon has cleared it and it is open now,” he added.

When asked what the situation was across Kashmir post incessant rainfall, he said, “everything is normal. There is nothing to be worried about.”
