SRINAGAR

The Srinagar-Jammu highway has been opened for traffic movement Saturday morning.

The 300-km-long strategic highway was closed by traffic authorities on last evening due to landslides and shooting triggered by heavy rains at Sherbibi Ramsoo, Gangroo, Pantiyal, Karool and Kelamore areas.

Around 400 light and heavy motor vehicles stranded at Sherbibi and Ramban sectors since last night were allowed to move on priority after the road was restored this morning, reports said. “However, only LMVs were allowed from Qazigund.”
