SRINAGAR: On the directions of the government, the Srinagar- Jammu National Highway will remain closed on Sunday for necessary repair and restoration works in Ramban district by NHAI, officials said.

They said that continuous rains caused damage to the highway leading to road sinking at Dalwass in Ramban district.

Meanwhile, traffic Police headquarters in Srinagar issued a fresh advisory for Sunday stating that to carry out repair works on NH-44 at Dalwass, every type of traffic would remain suspended on either side of the Srinagar Jammu National Highway between Nashri and Banihal tunnels.

According to an advisory issued by the traffic police, no vehicle would be allowed to travel on the strategic highway between Nashri and Banihal tunnels after 6 pm on Saturday. The restriction would continue till Sunday midnight, it said,
