SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Friday said that on Saturday subject to fair weather and better road conditions light motor vehicles (passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on the highway.
The traffic department in an advisory said TCU Jammu, Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
It also said that commuters are advised not to travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW without confirming the status of the road from TCU Jammu/Ramban/Srinagar.
The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Nagrota (Jammu) from 05: 00 hrs to 12:00 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur) from 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs and from Zig (Qazigund) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs.
“No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said.
“Heavy motor vehicles shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar,” it added.
“TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs,” it said.
“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar highway. They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of highway,” it reads.
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs from both sides and HMVs (up to twelve tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road. LMVs from Behramgalla 0800 hrs upto 1500 hrs., from Herpora 0800 hrs upto 1600 hrs & HMVs from Herpora 0900 hrs. upto towards Kargil shall be allo1500 hrs.
Subject to fair weather and good road condition only one-way traffic from Kargil towards Srinagar shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road.LMVs followed by HMVs will be released from Minimarg at 0900 hrs. up to 1400 hrs.No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.It said that the Srinagar-Leh highway is closed by the J&K Government vide Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s order No. 400/2020 dated 30-12-2020 till further orders.
