SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Sunday said that on Monday subject to fair weather and better road condition only light motor vehicles (passengers) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on the highway.

The traffic department in an advisory said TCU Jammu shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Nagrota (Jammu) from 05: 00 hrs to 12:00 hrs and Jakheni (Udhampur) from 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs.

“No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said.

“Only stranded heavy motor vehicles and load carriers between Nashree and Ramban shall be allowed towards Srinagar,” it added.

“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar highway. They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of highway,” it reads.

“On 12-03-2021 Friday , there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar highway from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the highway,” it added.

The historic Mughal Road and SSG Road is closed due to snow accumulation, reads the advisory.

It said that the Srinagar-Leh highway is closed by the J&K Government vide Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s order No. 400/2020 dated 30-12-2020 till further orders.

People have been advised not to travel on the highway without confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745) and Udhampur (8491928625).
