SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Sunday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition all kinds of vehicles would be allowed to travel from Srinagar towards Jammu in a regulated manner on Monday, December 14.
According to the advisory of the traffic department, commuters are advised to follow the SOP issued by the government to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Zig Qazigund from 07:00 am to 12:00 am and no Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.
“Heavy motor vehicles shall be allowed from Zig (Qazigund) towards Jammu after tail of up HMVs crosses Jawahar Tunnel. However fresh perishable carriers/Oil tankers shall be allowed in the opposite direction subject to the traffic situation,” reads the advisory.
“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu,” it reads.
“On 18-12-2020 Friday, there shall be no traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW from either side in view of maintenance/repairing of the NHW,” it added.
The historic Mughal Road and SSG Road is closed due to snow accumulation, reads the advisory.
People have been advised to undertake the journey on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745) and Udhampur(8491928625).
