SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Sunday said that on Monday subject to fair weather and better road conditions light motor vehicles (passenger) and private cars shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on the highway.

The traffic department in an advisory said TCU Jammu shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

It also said that commuters are advised not to travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW without confirming the status of the road from TCU Jammu/Ramban/Srinagar.

The traffic department in an advisory said LMVs will have to cross Nagrota (Jammu) from 09: 00 hrs to 13:00 hrs and Jakheni (Udhampur) from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs.

“No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said.

“Only stranded heavy motor vehicles in Banihal jurisdiction shall be allowed towards Jammu,” it added.

Mughal Road, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road and Kishtwar-Sinthan Road closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation by the Administration.

People have been advised not to travel on the highway without confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745), Udhampur (8491928625) and PCR Kishtwar  (9906154100) for status of Sinthan Road.
