The Srinagar-Leh highway was blocked and many houses inundated following a cloudburst in Kargil district on Thursday.
The cloudburst which took place Thursday evening led to the overflowing of streams passing through the district. There are no reports of any loss of life so far, the source said.
Roads in Kargil town and the 434-km-long strategic Srinagar-Leh highway have been blocked, sources said to a new agency.
