SRINAGAR: The Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed for the second consecutive day on Saturday after a massive landslide occurred at Bonibagh area of Kangan on Friday.
An official said that the road was blocked on Friday after a massive landslide hits Bonibagh, leaving 20 shops and residential houses including to 2 vehicles completely damaged.
However, there was no report of any causality.
He said Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on both sides on the highway.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has already pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to clear the landslides from the highway.
