Sources said that a large number of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, are stranded on both sides of the Zojila pass, which witnessed snowfall during the past 24 hours.

The highway was closed for traffic on Friday following the heavy snowfall and slippery road condition at Zojila Pass, Zero Point, Meenmarg, Drass, Matayan,  and no vehicle is being allowed to ply from both sides of the highway, said an official.

The official added that no movement of traffic was allowed keeping in view the safety and security of the commuters.
