Traffic remained suspended on the Sonamarg-Drass stretch of Srinagar-Leh highway on the third consecutive day on Thursday.
Officials said that a truck traveling from Sonamarag towards Drass was trapped on the stretch after a massive landslide at Shaitan Nallah on Tuesday afternoon forcing suspension of traffic movement on the Sonamarg-Drass stretch.
They said all the stranded vehicles and people on the stretch including Tariq Ahmad, the driver of the trapped truck, were rescued safely.
Men and machinery and the caretaking agency of the highway from Drass side, are on job to clear the road as early as possible, an official said.
