SRINAGAR: The traffic movement on 434 km long Srinagar-Leh highway which was suspended last Saturday after fresh snowfall at  Zojila Pass, was restored today morning.

An official told news agency KNO that road was opened for one way traffic from Leh-Srinagar on Wednesday morning.

He requested people before starting the journey, officials and control rooms must be contacted.

Due to snowfall authorities closed the Srinagar-Leh road, which passes through Zojila pass and connects Jammu and Kashmir with Ladakh union territory, for traffic.

“The road was closed for traffic as a precautionary measure in the wake of snowfall,” the officials said.
