SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Open Tennis Championship 2024 concluded at Gindun Tennis Courts, Rajbagh, with Inayat Jehangir retaining the Singles title and the pair of Mir Jameel and Haider Hussain winning the Doubles title. The tournament was held from November 9 to 17.

In the Singles final, played in the mornings, Inayat defeated Dilbagh Singh in straight sets with a scoreline of 6-0, 6-4. The match displayed high-quality tennis, but Singh’s errors under pressure allowed Inayat to secure victory by consistently challenging his baseline game.
In the Doubles final, Jameel and Haider overcame Inayat and Dilbagh in a closely contested match that ended 6-4, 7-5. The match lasted nearly two hours. Haider excelled at the net, while Jameel’s consistent baseline rallies eventually overpowered their opponents. Inayat and Dilbagh came close to forcing a third set but missed three set points while leading 5-4 in the second set.
Earlier, Jameel and Haider defeated Asif and Tahufuz in the semifinals, while Inayat and Dilbagh overcame Rakesh Raman and S. Rao to reach the final.
Prizes were distributed by Senior Police Officer Sajad Khaliq Bhat and ITF-certified coach Hanumant Singh during a brief ceremony after the finals. The tournament was organised by the District Lawn Tennis Association Srinagar in collaboration with the JK Lawn Tennis Association.
