Srinagar Resident Among Three JeM Militants Killed In Budgam Gunfight, Says Police

SRINAGAR: One among the three JeM militants killed in Budgam encounter have been identified as Waseem a resident of Srinagar city, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said.

He said that the identity of the other two is being ascertained. Three militants have been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Zolwa Kralpora Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.

He added that arms and ammunition including 3 AK 56 rifles were recovered from the site of the encounter.

“After killing of Waseem only one militant is Srinagar resident,” said IGP Kashmir.

Earlier, police said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. “In the ensuing gunfight, three JeM militants were killed,” he said.
