SRINAGAR: A man working as a cable operator died after receiving an electric shock and falling from a pole in the Zewan area of Panthachowk in Srinagar district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Bilal Ahmad Wani, aged around 34 years, and a resident of Zewan Panthachowk.
He was reportedly handling cable work when he came in contact with a live wire, resulting in an electric shock and a fall.
He was immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital Pampore in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Authorities have taken cognisance of the incident, and further proceedings have been initiated. (JKNS)
