Terming the holistic development of the state and particularly the revival of world famous Sher-e-Khas including Srinagar city as a commitment, the National Conference Sunday said that while ‘Omar is committed to develop Srinagar as a model city’, PDP is not only anti-Srinagar but also anti-state.
While interacting with various delegations of city The political secretary of the Chief Minister Tanvir Sadiq said “Omar Abdullah is taking every step for upgrading the basic facilities of summer capital of the state, the foundation of Rs 351 Cr Jehangir Chowk-Ram Bagh(JCRB) flyover and Rs 31 crore multistoried parking near Lal Chowk is one of many projects aimed at that” said Tanvir
“New hospitals like Lalded and JLNM, New facilities for patients at SMHS, SKIMS, CD Hopsital, GB Pant, Flyovers, Bridges, Newly proposed Tahzeeb Mehal, Traffic Lights, cleaning and revival of Dal and Nigeen Lake, Museums, Cultural centers, Amusement parks, TRC, World class Astro Turf for Polo view ground, Renovations of Indoor stadium, Play grounds of SP and Amar singh college, removal of 40 bunkers from city are some of many works in this direction”
Stating that when the NC led government took the reins of power in 2009, the drainage system of the City was defunct due to which most the City remained waterlogged during rainy season The political secretary said “In the five years well connected drainage system has been constructed to overcome this problem including majority of the roads in the city have been macadamized” Tanvir added “The Party legislators have done a commendable job by developing their constituencies to the satisfaction of the electorate” said Sadiq
Stating that with the launch of Artisans Credit Card Scheme (ACCS) more than 70,000 artisans of the Srinagar district, associated with handicrafts and handlooms, benefited from this scheme, 40,000 modern looms to the artisans free of cost during the next five year plan is a huge step” said Tanvir adding “With revolutionary steps like the “Heritage street” Omar Sahib’s main objective is to bring back the glory of Artisans by focusing on natural, cultural and craft of the state” said Tanvir
Lashing out at PDP for misinformation campaign Tanvir said “While they were in power, and while they had every opportunity to ensure development of Srinagar City they chose to just pay lip service” adding, “They did not approve any developmental schemes for Srinagar, did not macadamize any road in the city, the hatred they had towards the city dwellers can be seen from the fact that they wanted to relocate the civil secretariat, assembly and high court from Srinagar” said Tanvir
“If that was not enough they stalled the urban reform bill to ensure the GOI does not release the funds for city developments“ said Sadiq adding that today same people are shedding crocodile tears for Srinagar just because election are nearer”.
