SRINAGAR: After a wet spell for a couple of days last week, the temperature has soared once again in Kashmir while Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season at 33.2 degree Celsius.

According to the data available with the news agency KNO several parts of Kashmir including Srinagar, Qazigund, Kokernag and other areas reeled under heat wave as the mercury settled above 30 degree Celsius today.

Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season at 33.2 degree Celsius while the mercury settled at 32.0 degree Celsius and 31.5 degree Celsius in Qazigund and Kokernag areas respectively, the data revealed.

An independent weather forecaster, Faizan Arif Keng has predicted that the maximum temperature would likely shoot up to 35 degree Celsius by Thursday.

“Dry and sunny weather is expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours. Due to this, the maximum temperature at a few places in Kashmir region can stay in the range between 34-35 degree Celsius,” he said, adding that there is a possibility of Monsoon rains in some parts of Jammu region from Thursday onwards.
