SRINAGAR: Stating that the UT of Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed massive changes from 2018 onwards in terms of development, Chief Secretary on Friday said that all the ongoing developmental works in Srinagar City will be completed on the given deadlines.

Talking to the reporters, Chief Secretary,  Arun Kumar Mehta, said that the ongoing developmental projects will be completed on time in Srinagar City.

“Srinagar would have never looked better. Wait and watch what Srinagar is going to look like in May,” he said while replying to a query.

“We understand that in the real world all timelines are not adhered to on the particular day. The project gets completed day before or day after. But, in 2018-19, only 9200 works were completed and this year around 90,000 works are being completed. That’s the kind of change J&K has witnessed,” he said.

Pertinently, the Srinagar city, especially the commercial Hub Lal Chowk is witnessing several developmental works and the government has claimed that all the projects will be completed on April 15.

The developmental works are being carried out under the much-hyped Smart City project.
