SRINAGAR: In a major step towards ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, on Wednesday, chaired a comprehensive briefing session of Zonal Officers and Sector Officers deployed for Yatra duties across the district.
The meeting was convened to review overall security and operational preparedness and to strengthen coordination among officers entrusted with responsibilities along the Yatra route and other designated locations.
During the session, the SSP extensively briefed the officers about their roles and responsibilities, emphasising the importance of maintaining a high level of alertness, professionalism and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the pilgrimage period.
He directed all officers to ensure close coordination with concerned departments and stakeholders, maintain effective supervision in their respective jurisdictions and remain prepared to respond swiftly to any emergent situation.
Stressing the significance of proactive policing, SSP Nagpure called for efficient communication, effective crowd management and all possible assistance to pilgrims while maintaining a robust and multi-layered security framework.
The SSP further instructed the officers to remain vigilant round the clock, conduct regular field inspections and ensure timely reporting of any developments to facilitate prompt decision-making and effective response mechanisms.
Reaffirming the commitment of Anantnag Police towards the successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage, SSP Nagpure said that comprehensive security arrangements and coordinated field deployment would be ensured to make the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 safe, secure and hassle-free for all devotees.
The meeting concluded with officers expressing their readiness to discharge their assigned duties with dedication and professionalism, aimed at ensuring a peaceful and well-managed Yatra. (KNC)
