The Jammu and Kashmir state cabinet is all set to meet here on Thursday morning under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, official sources told KNS.

The meeting, which is scheduled to 10:30 in the morning at the Civil Secretariat here, is expected to take some key decisions, with regard to transfers and posting in civil and police administration, the sources said.

“Apart from discussion on overall situation in the state, the cabinet is slated to decide on a key bill for amendments in the recruitment policy with regard to migrants from one district or division to other in the state”, highly placed sources told KNS. They said the issue of employees’ demands and protests will also come up for discussion during the meeting.

The cabinet may also take some important decisions with regard to postings and transfers in the civil and police administration. “The issue of posting the recently promoted Assistant Directors General of Police is also on agenda for discussion”, claimed sources adding the issue of appointment of a replacement to the state Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, may also come up for discussion.
