Describing much hyped relief package by J&K Finance Minister as “misleading and insult to the injuries” of flood affected people, state unit of Congress led by G A Mir Monday questioned that “where is the relief package of PDP BJP, how much government is allocating for relief and rehabilitation?”

Seeking clarity from the  PDP-BJP coalition government especially over the relief package announced during Prime Minister’s visit to Valley, Mir  asked the government to clarify “how they are to going to rehabilitate the flood affected people particularly business community which has suffered  heavily due to September 2014 deluge. How the State Govt is going to rehabilitate others who lost their household due to floods, he questioned”.

Accusing coalition government of “playing with the emotions of flood and rain affected” people of the State, Mir said, “previous INC-NC coalition government while taking on-board all the stake holders, prepared a relief package of Rs 44,000 crore which was comprehensive covering everyone affected due to floods, but the said package was rejected purely only political lines by the Union government which is quite amazing and unfortunate.”

PCC Chief said, “government must come out with a complete details about the Flood Relief Package and should also educate the people about the step Govt is taking  for rehabilitating o flood affected people, as that thing will only clear the confusion created by the state government with regard to Flood Relief Package.”

Supporting Business Chambers and  Traders’ Associations for having decided to “boycott Pre-Budget” Meeting with Finance Ministry in protest against the “failure of the government” to rehabilitate them,  Mir added, “government has miserably failed to rehabilitate the Business Community, for the fact, it (Coalition Government) is taking their issues lightly. The Business Community have suffered huge losses due to September 2014 deluge and the approach of the government towards their rehabilitation is confusing.”

Reiterating Congress Party’s resolve to “fight for the rehabilitation of flood affected people”, PCC Chief said that it is obvious now that Traders Community of Kashmir too is feeling “disappointed with callous attitude of ruling dispensation”.
