Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy today organized an orientation programme themed ‘Admissions and Confessions: Practice & Procedure’ for the Judicial Magistrates serving in Kashmir division.
Director, J&K State Judicial Academy conducted the proceedings of the programme wherein the participating officers discussed the statutory framework dealing with admissions and confessions in the criminal trial proceedings.
The participants also discussed the provisions of Evidence Act and Code of Criminal Procedure. Various issues which also cropped up during the discussions were resolved in the backdrop of the relevant provisions of law and judicial precedents from the superior courts.
Special emphasis was laid on the impact of extension of central laws pertaining to criminal trials before the courts.
Later, Director, J&K State Judicial Academy also made a presentation of the impact of ‘Jammu & Kashmir Re-organization Act’ on the legal framework of the State.
