SRINAGAR: Stockholm University is currently accepting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow in Soil Carbon Cycling at the Department of Physical Geography. Job Description involves:

The Postdoctoral Fellow shall undertake the responsibility of scrutinizing data derived from literature and collaborative project partners, formulating novel process-based models delineating the functionality of soil biota, participating in project meetings, producing comprehensive result reports, and engaging in diverse project activities that extend beyond the realm of modeling.

Eligibility criteria to apply for the fellowship:

Applicants must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification from another country and have completed their Ph.D. no more than three years before the closing date. We are in search of a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with exceptional expertise in soil carbon cycling, soil microbial processes, and/or carbon cycle models. During the selection process, particular consideration will be given to candidates with degrees in a relevant field (such as engineering, applied mathematics, soil science, ecology, hydrology, bio physics and a robust background in computational, mathematical, or statistical aspects (e.g., meta-analysis, DNA-based microbial community analysis, mathematical modelling). Proficiency in computer programming (e.g., R, Python, Matlab) is essential. Demonstrated experience in publishing in high-impact English journals is also a key factor.

Terms of Employment:

There will be a full-time engagement spanning a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years.

The commencement date will be March 1, 2024, or as mutually agreed upon.
