Forces on Monday resorted to aerial firing and tear gas shelling in a Pulwama village after the cavalcade of IG CRPF came under stone pelting, reports said.
The incident took place at Tengpuna area of the district.
Reports said that the cavalcade was on way to Awantipora from Pulwama.
As soon as people of Tengpuna see the cavalcade scores of them started raising slogans and pelting stones, local sources said however they were dispersed by aerial firing and tear smoke shelling.
Police officials confirmed the incident and said “some miscreants pelted stones at the IG’s cavalcade”. However they denied reports of aerial firing by forces saying “some tear smoke shells were fired to disperse the miscreants.”
