MLA Langate and President AIP Er. Rashid has appealed civil society and intellectuals of Jammu Province to stand up against the communal forces and stop them from communalizing JK’s political dispute.
While addressing a one day seminar at Press club Jammu Saturday on communal harmony he said. “Peace without justice will always remain a dream. Let followers of non violence and nationalist forces of India explain what happened in Jammu in 1947, why are Kashmiris being killed like wild animals and what happened in Kishtwar with Muslims recently and why Indians do not raise a voice against the communal forces in Jammu who are always on their toes to wage war against Muslims from Kishtwar to Jammu city. Kashmiris want to know that if Jammuties believe that Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh is a united territory then why don’t they join hands with Kashmiris for the settlement of Kashmir dispute which is purely a political issue.” He said that civil society and intellectual class of Jammu should give a credit to Kashmiris for maintaining communal harmony under all circumstances.
Er Rashid strongly rejected the charges that Kashmiri Pundits were forced to leave the Valley in 1989 while the fact is that it were Kashmiri Pundits who had access to whole of India and left their Muslim brothers at the mercy of the guns. He produced figures that how state of India was decimating Kashmiris Muslims in every field of life.
He reiterated his demand to abolish VDCs and alleged that these are nothing but state sponsored terrorist organizations. The seminar was attended besides others by prominent civil society activists, senior advocates, processors, students and prominent businessmen healing from Jammu province. ER Rashid appreciated the commitment made by the participants to fight the communal forces in Jammu region.
