Stranded Say They Are Facing Communications Issues

SRINAGAR: As the authorities have started evacuating the people stranded across Inda and abroad for repatriation, there are reports that the stranded face a sort of communication crisis with the authorities.

Kashmir Life newsroom is getting calls and information alleging that the helpline numbers are not being picked up or responded. They are even naming names from Haraya and even in Delhi.

Here is one particular e-mail, we got during the day:

“Dear sir/mam
My Name is Faisal salam. I am basically from Anantnag Kashmir bt currently I am stuck at my friends place in sarita vihar Delhi.I was working with a private company from past 3 months bt due to lockdown we have been told to be on leave without pay. So it’s unbearable for me to live on my own as all the savings that I have had almost exhausted. I had already registered myself on jktpo website on the 30/04/2020 bt till today I didn’t get any response from any side.I tried to contact multiple number. Either those numbers are switched off or not reachable and sometimes if call gets connected they always told me to wait. Until when we should I’m asking u people to raise this concern to the concerned person. So that we can get out of this situation
Faisal salam
Earlier in the day, a group of Kashmiri students said they are stuck up in Delhi. Here is the communication:
“We are at least 50 students here at East Delhi.
Govt has already provided some helpline numbers for students but, unfortunately, none of them is providing information.
We called them several times but whether the phone is switched off or busy. If somehow call is received by them they put the call on hold.. The conditions are getting worst day by day. So ur good self is requested please help us”.
