SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered re-imposition of complete lockdown in all Kashmir districts except Bandipora till July 27 after a sudden surge in COVID-19 cases in the valley over the past one week, officials said.

“Complete lockdown in all Red districts ( excluding Bandipora) of Kmr Div from today evening till 6 am on 27-7-2020.Agri/ horti & constr activities to continue as per DMRR guidelines,” DIPR tweeted.

“Movement of goods carriers/ LPG & Oil tankers to continue unhindered,” it said.

Officials said the decision to reimpose restrictions in the valley was taken after recommendations of experts and is aimed at containing the further spread of the disease.

As of now, J&K has 15258 cases, out of which 6540 are Active Positive, 8455 have recovered and 270 have died; 20 in Jammu division and 250 in Kashmir division.
