In a statement, KPDCL said electricity supply may be suspended intermittently as a precautionary measure to prevent accidents and damage to the distribution network during adverse weather conditions.

The power utility urged residents to maintain safety and avoid contact with loose or hanging electric wires. People have also been advised not to touch electric poles, transformers or fallen power lines, and to keep electrical appliances unplugged during voltage fluctuations.

KPDCL said its field teams have been placed on alert to respond to any faults or emergencies. Restoration work will be taken up on priority once weather conditions improve and it is safe to resume operations.

The corporation appealed to consumers for patience and cooperation, stressing that the precautionary shutdowns are being carried out in the interest of public safety.
