Jammu and Kashmir Police has contacted Ghaziabad Police in connection with the death of a student of SRM college Gaziabad namely Abdul Manan Wani, resident of Channapora, Srinagar. Manan was putting up in a private hostel. A police statement said on Thursday.
The statement quoted SHO police station Modinagar under whose jurisdiction the hostel falls, said Police had received an information that a student of SRM college had attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself in this hostel room. He was rushed to hospital but died on way. After taking cognizance, police has sent the body for post mortem.
“The police is looking into the cause of this extreme step by checking up with his friends and the call details of the mobile phone of the deceased,” the statement said adding Jammu and Kashmir Police is in contact with the Ghaziabad Police and friends of the deceased.
