A 17 year girl student lost her vision in left eye after she was assaulted by her neighbour in Hakbara Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Police sources said that two girl students (neighbours) from class 11th had a tiff off over a petty matter in Higher Secondary School Hajin. The Principal of the school resolved the matter amicably, however, one of the girls complained to her father who happens to be a police constable about the matter and in a fit of rage, the father of the girl Muzaffar Mir along with other family members attacked the house of the friend of her daughter and hit her eye with a stone.
The injured Narjis Hasan daughter of Ghulam Hasan Wagay was rushed to SMHS hospital where doctors informed the family members that the girl has lost vision of her left eye and advised them to shift her to outside state for treatment.
“My daughter Narjis is going under treatment in Doctor Hadia Hospital Indoor in Madhya Pradesh. The irony is that the police have still not arrested the main culprit Muzaffar Mir,” the father of the victim Ghulam Hasan Wagay told CNS on phone from Indoor.
When contacted, Station House Officer Hajin Ateequllah said that Court granted bail to the main accused and police will contest his claim for the bail and will arrest him. “We have registered a formal case vide FIR number 83/2014 under section 323,354,447 while two accused have already been arrested,” he said adding that no accused will be spared for playing with anybody’s life as nobody is above law.
