Clashes broke out between the government forces and students of Government degree College Sopore, following the protest demonstration against the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa on Tuesday.
Reports said that shouting slogans scores of the students assembled in college premises and later marched outside and clashed with police and paramilitary men. As the students pelted stones on forces they responded by firing tear gas smoke shells.
Earlier, authorities had suspended the class work at various schools and colleges to prevent students from staging protests.
