The students of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of North campus at Wadoora Sopore on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the Kulgam killings.

Four civilians, Sarjeel Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Fazil Illahi and Aijaz Ahmad were killed by government forces in Khudwani area f Kulgam during clashes which erupted amid a gunfight between militants and forces on Wednesday. At least 60 persons also sustained injuries in force’s action.

Scores of students including female students assembled in the premises of the University and shouted anti-government and pro-freedom slogans against the civilian killings, the students held a peaceful protest at the campus to condemn the killings and express solidarity with their families.

“Our minors are being raped, our innocents are been tortured, our women flocks are been harassed but the irony is that Delhi is hardly bothered about us Kashmiris,” students said.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being witnessed in parts of Sopore on Hurriyat call against the fresh killings in Kulgam.
