The Union Cabinet on Thursday decided to hike the cap on subsidized LPG cylinders from six to nine from April 2013, according to reports.
The government had on Wednesday sought permission from the Election Commission (EC) to hike the number of subsidized LPG cylinders from 6 to nine.
The EC has reportedly said that the government’s decision to hike the subsidized LPG cap is not the violation of election code of conduct.
