In absence of any mobile tower in the Gund Jahangir area of Sumbal Sonawari tehsil of North Kashmir’s Banidpora district, all the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) subscribers have been suffering from past two years.

Locals of the area said, “Despite repeatedly bringing the problem of poor connectivity to the notice of BSNL authorities, no action was taken.”

The fuming residents said that from past two years, the locals of Gund Jahangir have been requesting the BSNL authorities to erect a tower in the area but all their requests have gone to deaf ears.

They alleged that due to poor landline and mobile services of the BSNL, people are suffering.

The concerned authorities are least bothered about the plight of the consumers while inflated bills are served to them every month, the locals alleged.

The locals of Hajin and Sonawari have also voiced the same concerns.
