SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday said the government will review the issue of summer vacations in schools in July and take an appropriate decision after assessing the prevailing weather conditions.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Itoo said that the concerned authorities would discuss the matter of summer vacations before any decision is taken.
“We will discuss summer vacations in July,” the minister said when asked about the possibility of announcing a break for schools amid rising temperatures.
She, however, did not specify any timeline for the decision and said the government would take a call after reviewing all relevant factors, including the weather conditions.
The statement comes amid speculation over summer vacations in educational institutions due to the prevailing weather conditions in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
