SRINAGAR: In a recent development, the School Education Department has issued an amendment to the previously declared schedule for summer vacations in the Kashmir division. The revised communique, issued on Sunday, states that the summer vacations for pre-primary and primary classes in all government and recognized private schools will now commence from June 26, 2023.

The decision comes in light of the consistently increasing temperatures experienced in the region. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) considered the prevailing weather conditions and deemed it necessary to reschedule the summer break for these classes. This amendment supersedes the earlier announcement made by the DSEK on Saturday.

Initially, the DSEK had declared a summer vacation for all educational institutions in the Kashmir division, scheduled to take place from July 1 to July 10. However, after careful assessment of the rising temperatures, the department realized the urgency to adjust the break specifically for pre-primary and primary classes.

With this revision, students in these classes will now be able to avail themselves of an extended summer vacation period, providing them respite from the sweltering heat. The alteration in the vacation dates is aimed at ensuring the well-being and comfort of young learners during the peak summer season.

Educational institutions, both government-run and recognized private schools, are expected to comply with the revised vacation schedule and make the necessary arrangements accordingly. Parents and guardians are advised to take note of the updated dates to ensure the smooth transition of their children into the summer break.

As the revised summer vacation plan takes effect, students, parents, and teachers in the Kashmir division can now plan their summer activities and make the most of the extended break to rejuvenate before the start of the next academic session.
