SRINAGAR: The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday, October 29, 2026, approved a proposal for the appointment of nine advocates as judges of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
The decision was taken at a Collegium meeting held on October 29, according to an official statement.
The advocates recommended for appointment are Vishal Sharma, Vikram Kumar Sharma, Namgyal Wangchuk, Pawan Kumar Kundal, Tahir Majid Shamsi, Tabasum Zafar, Amit Gupta, Pranav Kohli and Anupam Raina.
The Collegium’s approval is a recommendation for appointment; it does not, by itself, mean that the advocates have formally assumed office as judges.
The recommendations are subject to the remaining stages of the judicial appointment process before formal appointments are notified.
