SRINAGAR: The Supreme Court of India has designated seven former High Court judges as Senior Advocates, following a decision taken at a full court meeting held on March 18.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. An official notification issued on March 19 stated that the designations have come into effect immediately.
According to the notification, those designated as Senior Advocates include Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal (former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court), Justice Harsha Nathalal Devani (former judge of Gujarat High Court), Justice MS Ramesh (former judge of Madras High Court), Justice Mauna M Bhatt (former judge of Gujarat High Court).
Among others, Justice RN Manjula (former judge of Madras High Court), Justice Umesh Chandra Dhyani (former judge of Uttarakhand High Court), and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul (former judge of High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh).
