SRINAGAR: In the last 24 hours, two BJP minister’s talked in terms of actions requiring crossing the Line of Control (LoC). Ministers Rajnath Singh and Dr Jitendra Singh were speaking to two different gatherings at different places in two days.

Speaking to a gathering in Uttarakhand, defence minister, Singh talked about China and Pakistan but did not mention the former. He said India is keen to have good relations with its neighbours.

“If it (Pakistan) crosses its limits, we will just not retaliate on the borders but can even cross over into its territory and do surgical and airstrikes,” Singh said. He said, “India will give a befitting reply” if any country attempts to “occupy even an inch of our land”. He, however, did not name China, unlike Pakistan.

In Delhi, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that getting back Pakistan administered Kashmir is on the national and political agenda. He said the BJP has the capacity and it was demonstrated by the abrogation of Article 370. Dr Singh said the division of India and that of Jammu and Kashmir are the tragedies, which were the outcome of, what he said “Nehurvian blunders”.

The minister in the PMO was speaking to a gathering of people who had migrated from the territory of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, which is now being administered by Islamabad.
