Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Irrigation Minster Sham Lal Choudhary and Health Minster Bali Baghat separately visited border areas and assured people that all necessary arrangements will be put in place at the camps setup for their safety in case of any exigency.

The two Singh’s were interacting with people of border areas of Suchetgarh area. They also visited Falora, Suchetgarh, and Gharana villages.

SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta and while apprising the ministers about the arrangements being made at the camps said that all necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned officers to shift the people of villages falling 0-10 kms from international border. It was further informed that 8 camps are functional with adequate arrangements and place for additional 6 camps have been identified in case of requirement crops up.

Dr Singh directed the administration to maintain close coordination with people and to provide every help in case of emergency. He also asked them to provide 24X7 helpline numbers connected to the control rooms to the people.

Later Deputy Chief Minister visited the camps setup in R S Pura to take stock of the arrangements put in place at the camp.

Bali Bhagat visited various make-shift camps of border people in Raipur-Domana area.

The administration has lodged the people of Akhnoor border belt in various government schools as precautionary measures to ensure their safety in wake of   prevailing situation along the Indo-Pak border. The people of several border villages falling in Khour, Akhnoor, Pragwal, and Kaleeth, have been temporarily rehabilitated in government schools and community halls and administration has made all the necessary arrangements for their stay.

In Poonch which was part of the action theatre, it was Deputy Commissioner Mohammad  Harun Malik  who visited  “Maki Post” area near the line of control (LoC) and  reviewed the situation there.

During his visit the DDC informed the people that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for their rehabilitations at safer places where all arrangements are properly put in place.
