Suspected militants on Friday evening fired upon an army Casper vehicle at Habdipora Shopian in South Kashmir.
An official said that an army Casper of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was on routine patrol and suspected militants fired upon the vehicle from orchards. However, there were no reports of any loss or damage.
The official added that forces have cordoned off the area and searches are on to nab the assailants.
Meanwhile, pro-freedom and pro-militant slogans are being raised on masjid loudspeakers at Rawalpora Shopian, an official said.
