Panic spread in North Kashmir’s Pattan area on Wednesday when suspected militants lobbed two grenades at mobile tower in the area.

The incident happened at Nihalpora area of Pattan when some unidentified men attacked the tower and fled the spot. Though the grenades didn’t explode, but the incident triggered panic in the area.

No loss of life, however, was reported. The police party that reached on the spot has started the manhunt.

Notably, Wednesday’s attack on telecom tower is another incident of tower attacks in Kashmir. Earlier such attacks shook the restive Sopore town, alarming the security set up of the state.
