Suspected militants make abortive bid at police officer’s house in Sopore

SRINAGAR

Suspected militants on Friday evening attacked house of a police officer in Dangerpora village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources told GNS that around 9:10 pm suspected militants opened some shots towards the house of Inspector Athar Samad in Dangerpora. However, no one was hurt in the attack.

“The fire shots created panic in the locality,” sources said.

The officer, who is presently posted in Ganderbal was present at his home when it came under the attack.

Soon after the attack, army, police and CRPF rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

“The joint team of forces has started searches in the village to nab the attackers.” Sources added.
